Left 4 Dead is an intense multiplayer FPS game developed by Valve for PC. Set in the aftermath of a zombie outbreak, players take on the role of survivors fighting their way through hordes of infected. Similar to other survival horror titles, Left 4 Dead drops players into a zombie-infested zone where they must use every tool at their disposal to survive waves of the infected and reach their objective.

The game is set on the East Coast, two weeks after the outbreak. Four survivors have developed immunity against the disease and are trying to escape the city. As they make their way towards the remaining safe zones, dangerous mutations are developing in some hosts. Players must traverse the dangerous landscape, using tools and weapons they find to survive.

Left 4 Dead offers four game modes to choose from. The Campaign mode, also known as Co-op, allows players to control the four survivors as they progress through chapters and reach checkpoints. In Single Player mode, one player controls a survivor while the rest are AI-controlled. Survival mode challenges players to fight off waves of infected for as long as possible, with medal rewards for achieving certain time milestones. Versus Survival is a sub-mode where real players control Special Infected to fight against the survivors. Lastly, Versus mode is the competitive mode where players take turns controlling survivors and special infected to earn the most points.

Left 4 Dead is a genre-defining classic shooter that still holds up well today. Its multiplayer modes provide excellent replay value, and it was one of the first games to truly encourage cooperation and coordination among players to achieve objectives. Highly recommended and a must-play for fans of the survival horror genre.
